The cover art of this paperback version of The Nutcracker and The Mouse King is very cute. However, there are typos all throughout this book. The typos are so bad that it is almost unreadable. I'm super bummed because I really love the story. I am on the search for a readable copy.Product details

This is a book I have had for years and I wanted to buy it for a friend who is a Nutcracker fan. I was amazed to find it still in print and she was delighted with it.
Beautiful book and illustrations, but I was expecting a beautiful cover on the book (like some examples I'd seen), not an illustrated dust jacket. That's a real disappointment, as I was wanting to get my grandchildren the ones with the beautiful cover that was soft to the touch. Wish I knew how to differentiate that on a website.
This is a beautiful copy of the book. The book also has beautiful illustrations. I have not sat down and read the story again but I have enjoyed looking through this. I think if you like the Nutcracker you would also love this copy. I recommend.
I bought this for my Granddaughter. She asked for a book telling the story of the Nutcracker. This one clearly tells the story and is probably for at least a 7 year old and up. The art work is lovely and colorful. It's a book you'll read together and enjoy. Very happy with this purchase.
This is a wonderful fairytale most famously known from its portrayal by the beautiful ballet we often enjoy as a Christmas tale. The story is charming and memorable, a fun bedtime story to share with your children. Excellent illustration, recommended.
Just like the movies are never as good as the book, the famous ballet is only enhanced by reading the story that inspired it. Trading it aloud in front of a fire to the grandkids would make a good Christmas tradition, right up there with the Night before Christmas.
I bought this so my 10 year old cousin (who has difficulty reading) could try and read this to me. Given the season, I figured this was an appropriate book. This book is simple to read and the pictures add so much to the story. Until I received this, I have never read the book version, I have only seen the ballet. This book is just as magical as the ballet.
